Chrissy graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University in 1999. She received her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest School of Law in 2003 and began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the First Judicial District. Chrissy handled all levels of misdemeanor and felony offense in Juvenile, District and Superior Court. In 2013, Chrissy opened her private practice concentrating in the areas of family law, criminal defense, minor civil litigation and juvenile law. Chrissy’s daily passion and objective is to ensure that all people and competent, compassionate and affordable representation as they traverse the often complicated and emotional judicial system.

ABOUT

Chrissy Simmons grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA; however, spent a great deal of time during her childhood on the Outer Banks. Chrissy’s first “real job” as a young adult was waiting tables at local seafood establishments and working retail/recreation at Kitty Hawk Kites. Chrissy’s immediate and extended family have called the OBX home for over 50 years!

PROFESSIONAL / COMMUNITY

Chrissy is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, the First Judicial District Bar and the Dare County Bar.  In addition, Chrissy is very active in her community serving as a Board member on the Outer Banks Relief Foundation and the Dare Coalition Against Substance Abuse, and she is a past advisory board member of the YMCA and Dare Teen Court.  The Simmons’ family directs and sponsors the annual OBX Four Corners Basketball Camp and has done so for over 20 years. Chrissy and her husband live in Manteo with their two sons.
